EPIC ROOM MAKEOVER BLOG ENRTY

The Family:

Meet the Bakers! Blake, Liz, and Adelaide. Our family has lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for two years. We LOVE being close to the city and  having access to the beautiful outdoors. We spend our spare time with family and friends, hiking, cooking, watching college football and DIY makeover shows!!! I love them!!!
Seriously... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them.

The ROOM (booo!):

This room needs so much help on so many levels. It is BORING (and that is being nice).

No color or personality

Is used as an office, play area, and TV room.

SO SAD.

We need help with storage and functionality!

Two cool things about the room:
homemade wreath my sister made
and real Mexican rug my husband got
while doing humanitarian work.

Shoes pile up by the door to the garage and basement!
Drives me crazy!

This is the icing on the cake... rocker/love seat/recliner...
Mandi, I know you are a miracle worker.
I have complete faith in you.
You will have to make this thing cool to convince me to keep
it or pry it out of my husbands hands.
He loves it almost as much as I love DIY shows.

Top 10 reasons Mandi should pick us for her 2012 Epic Room Makeover (yay!):

1. I am an aspiring DO IT YOURSELFER and am dying to learn how to do all the AMAZING  things Mandi does!
2. I will make great food for her and the crew every single day they are at our home.

3. I have a very flexible work schedule and can help out 100%
4. I love her style and know she will do a great job
5. I will give 100% control over to her

6. I graduated from college and had a baby in the last year, it would be a great treat!
7. I have an adorable baby who will make us laugh and smile every day (I will get babysitting help)
8. I will do anything to get this room makeover!!! I will eat worms,
I will clean Mandi’s house and car, I will arm/leg wrestle anyone who wants it too.
9. Our room will be a challenge but I have 100% confidence in Mandi!
10. Did I mention cooking and baking you lots of yummy yummy food?!

I love Mandi’s work and her blog. It would be so exciting for her to come to our home and help us do a room makeover!!!

Does anyone else...

...think of the opening scenes of You've Got Mail when the fall season starts to appear?
I DO! I love that part of the movie. Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) writes to the unknown "Shopgirl" that he loves the NY in the fall and it makes him want to buy school supplies. Also, he adds that
he would send her a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils if he knew who she was.
How romantic is that?!!
You see the beautiful streets of NYC, fall leaves, Cathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) briskly walking,
and the music of the Cranberries start to play. I have my own rendition (even with the Cranberries song) of this except in SLC and Blake telling me he will buy me school supplies (still romantic).

I love fall because of the cool crisp air, colorful leaves, and smell of change in the air.
Believe it or not I do look forward to starting school again (that quickly changes after the first few weeks) and of course with that comes college football season (GO BRONCOS!) . I love seeing
pumpkins in the stores and on porches. I love cooking soups and rolls and pumpkin pie with leaf crust. I love hot chocolate on a cool night and wearing jeans and sweaters. I love Halloween and the excited kids. I look forward to gathering with family for Thanksgiving. This is one of the greatest times of the year to reflect on blessings.

What a wonderful time of year.
